Christine Conley

With the support of a 2006 Vision Fellowship award, Christine Conley attended Lesley University’s Audubon Expedition Institute, a post graduate program in Environmental Education which focused on experiential education. In groups of 10 to 15 students and 2 to 3 faculty, she traveled by bus within a designated bioregion each semester for ten weeks of field experience. Instead of consulting text books to learn about an area’s environmental and social issues, the students explored each region firsthand, talking, listening, and interacting with the people who live and work there. Over the course of two years, Christine traveled to Adirondacks Park, Great Smoky National Park, the Big Island of Hawaii, the Sea Islands of South Carolina and Georgia, and the rocky Down East coast of Maine. Christine subsequently earned a nursing degree from Curry College in 2017.
