Kendra Buresch is a research biologist at the Marine Biological Laboratory’s Hanlon Lab in Woods Hole where her current focus is in Rapid Adaptive Coloration that is used for a wide variety of camouflage and communication in cephalopods (octopus, cuttlefish, squid). She has worked at MBl for more than 18 years, and for the Nature Conservancy as a field biologist before that.

With her two-year Vision Fellowship project award in 2015, Kendra developed and implemented the MV Habitat Kids curriculum to teach young children about the Vineyard’s ecology. The curriculum was used alongside the hands-on process of creating ‘Habitat Patches’ at local elementary schools with the children and reached more than 275 students in grades K-5 at five elementary schools.
