April Knight
April Knight, a 2016 Vision Fellow, earned her Ph.D. in international psychology with a concentration in organizational systems at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2020. April’s dissertation, titled Prosocial Development among Cuban Youth – Studying Gender, Culture and Contextual Factors, was published in 2020. The international aspect of the program and the required travel, notably to Cuba and Japan, exposed her to other cultures and their ways of addressing mental health issues. April grew up on the Island. For 19 years, before enrolling in her Ph.D. program, she worked full-time on the Island in the mental health and school counseling fields. April now works on Island in private practice as a clinician, researcher and consultant.
